Abstract

This article examines the conceptualization of “anger” among native English speakers. The conceptual study of emotion is a well-established tradition in linguistics. Following the work of Fullen (1997) in analyzing emotions from a linguistic perspective, it is critical to distinguish between the spontaneous expression of an emotion and its description [2.25c]. The main focus of the article is on the descriptive aspect, in accordance with the research of Koveches Z. [3.36c]. The author demonstrates how English fiction illustrates certain aspects of the folk concept of anger using specific linguistic constructions.
