This article highlights how our understanding of the world is shaped by linguistic expressions, emphasizing the significant role of metaphor, imagery, and mental representations in the creation of meaning. It argues that language is not merely a system of symbols, but is intricately linked to cognitive processes and conceptual structures. Key concepts such as image schemas, conceptual metaphors, and the embodied nature of cognition suggest that our physical experiences influence both our linguistic abilities and conceptual frameworks. Cognitive linguistics challenges traditional views of language as a simple reflection of reality, proposing instead that language actively shapes our perceptions and interactions with the world.
