Abstract

In the novel “Bygone Days” by Abdulla Qadiri, the extraordinary mastery of revealing the compositional structure of the work through unique lexical and stylistic devices such as simile, synecdoche, antithesis and ellipsis serves to depict the social and historical conditions of that period, characters’ inner world, and events with real and unique sensitivity in the reader’s imagination. The article reveals the types of these artistic-stylistic and expressive means, their connotative meaning and the creation of subtle meaning through them using examples.
