Abstract

This article explores the intersection of lexicography and translation studies, focusing on lexical-semantic challenges encountered during translation. Key issues such as polysemy, synonym selection, cultural concept translation, and the importance of context are analyzed. The study employs descriptive and comparative methods using English–Uzbek and Russian–Uzbek dictionaries. The article outlines potential directions for improving translation practices and dictionary compilation.
