In recent years, world linguistics has been paying great attention to the study of not only written speech, but also oral speech. Most of these studies cover the lexical layer of argot, jargon and slang speech units used in live communication. It should be noted that many sociolinguistic research materials carried out to date are based on these units, which are characteristic of colloquial language. Because their proximity to ordinary folk language is an important factor in determining the social value of language in society, it has attracted the attention of specialists. Therefore, this article will discuss the terms slang, argot and jargon.
