This article analyzes the paranormal episodes in Nazar Eshonkul’s novella The Black Book and their artistic function. The focus is on how these paranormal elements play a significant role in the protagonists' spiritual journeys and inner experiences. Supernatural phenomena in literary thought are examined as part of the process of human spiritual decline and self-realization. The discussion also addresses the symbolic meanings and aesthetic roles of the paranormal episodes, particularly in relation to religious, mythological, and folkloric sources.
