This article examines linguistic manipulation in the film "The Godfather," analyzing speech strategies, manipulation tactics, and their psychological and cultural impacts. By applying theoretical foundations such as speech act theory, intercultural communication, indirect speech acts, covert threats, emotional appeals, and cultural values, the study reveals how they influence behavior and reflections. Core methods like inducement strategies, masking, and negative evaluation are analyzed through well-known excerpts, uncovering power dynamics and hidden intentions. By synthesizing ideas from research on linguistic manipulation, this article presents "The Godfather" as an example that illustrates the ethical and social complexities of manipulative communication.
