This article analyzes the forms of address expressed through kinship terms. In the culture of the Uzbek and British peoples, the terms of kinship mean not only biological relations, but also social relations and expressions of respect. The article examines the forms of address that are often encountered in family discourse, mainly in marital relations, their place in communication, their semantic features, and their historical forms. Also, kinship in English is compared with forms of address, their cultural and linguistic aspects are considered and interpreted with examples from works of art. The results of the article show that kinship terms are important in oral speech as a means of expressing respect, closeness and social status.
