This article presents a theoretical and practical analysis of developing English lexical skills among primary education students. The linguistic, didactic, psychological, and methodological principles of lexical skill development are explored in their interconnectedness. The author elucidates the essence of behaviorist, cognitive, humanistic, communicative, global, deductive, inductive, and learner-centered approaches to foreign language teaching, identifying the unique characteristics of each approach and its role in fostering lexical skills. Furthermore, the process of developing receptive and reproductive lexical abilities is described, and the importance of passive and active vocabulary in effective English language acquisition is examined. The study concludes by offering practical recommendations for successfully enhancing students' lexical skills.
