Abstract

This article analyzes the artistic creation of the hero's portrait in Namık Kemal's “Intibah” (“Rebirth”) and Abdullah Kadiri's “Days Gone By”. Portrait in literature plays an important role in expressing the appearance, inner state of the hero, as well as his life experience. Through the characters of the novel, the writers illuminated social, cultural and moral problems of their time and sought to give the reader instructive wisdom.

Through the portraits of characters in Namık Kemal’s “Intibah” and Abdullah Kadiri’s “Days Gone By”, not only their external appearance but also their inner problems and personality traits are revealed. Through the characters, the writers strive to look into the social and cultural environment of their time. Artistic portraits illuminate not only their appearance, but also their emotional state and moral choices. The portraits reflect not only the characters but also society and its differences.
