Abstract

This scholarly article is dedicated to the linguistic analysis of metaphorical units in folklore texts, examining their semantic, structural, and functional characteristics. The study highlights the systematic nature of metaphors in folklore, their role within cultural contexts, and their function in expressing national worldviews. In particular, it analyzes the linguocultural aspects of metaphorical imagery in Uzbek folklore, focusing on both universal and ethnic features. The article employs a combination of modern cognitive linguistics and traditional folkloristic methods. The findings are significant not only for philology but also for the fields of cultural studies and anthropology.
