Abstract

This article is devoted to the comparative analysis of phraseological units in Uzbek and English as a reflection of the national identity of the respective peoples. Phraseological expressions are an important part of the linguistic worldview and play a significant role in conveying cultural values, traditions, and the mentality of each nation. The study examines similarities and differences between set expressions in both languages and explores their cultural and national characteristics. Special attention is given to idioms that are difficult to translate literally due to their deep connection with the history, everyday life, and worldview of the people. The analysis demonstrates that phraseological units can serve as a window into the cultural consciousness of native speakers. The findings of this research may be useful in teaching intercultural communication, as well as in translation practice and foreign language instruction.
