Abstract

This article analyzes the structural-syntactic features of appositive constructions in English. Appositive constructions are structures that are semantically dependent on the main sentence in speech, but appear as intonationally and structurally independent units. Their study is crucial for understanding the dynamics of sentence structure in modern English syntax. The analysis illuminates the structural types of appositive units and their syntactic functions based on examples extracted from the works of writers such as Bellow, Kingsley, Wells, and Golding.
