Abstract

This article explores the phonological features of spoken German from a linguistic perspective. It analyzes the role of phonemes and their variants, as well as prosodic features such as stress, intonation, rhythm, and pauses in oral communication. The paper further discusses the communicative function of German phonology and its significance in ensuring clarity, intelligibility, and effectiveness of spoken discourse. Comparative observations with other languages are also presented to highlight the specific characteristics of German phonology in spoken interaction.
