Abstract

The issue of improving students' professional competence in English language classes through reading authentic texts deserves special attention in the educational process today. Professional competence is a set of knowledge, skills and qualifications necessary for a student to successfully perform professional activities as a specialist. In the process of learning English, by reading authentic texts, especially those related to the field, students not only deepen their language knowledge, but also acquire the information and language of professionals necessary for effective work in the professional field. Therefore, it is important to introduce methods based on authentic texts that represent real professional situations and are used in a practical environment in the language teaching process.
