This article examines the morphological structure of sports terms in English and Uzbek, the mechanisms underlying their formation, and the specific features of the terminological systems of both languages. As the field of sports continues to develop globally, the emergence of new terms, their formation through morphological models, and their adaptation within the linguistic system represent an important scholarly issue. The study provides a comparative analysis of processes such as affixation, compounding, abbreviation, borrowing, and semantic extension in sports terminology. In addition, the article highlights examples of modern sports terms borrowed from English into Uzbek, illustrating their morphological transformation and adaptation. The findings offer practical value for understanding trends in the development of sports terminology, improving translation practices, and compiling bilingual terminological dictionaries.
