Abstract

The main purpose of this article is to interpret the views of world linguists on the text and its content, as well as its perception as a source of communication, with the research of mainly European scholars being widely presented. If we accept the text as the main source of language communication, we notice that scholars mainly emphasize the connections between sentences within the text. For the information to be understandable and coherent, it is necessary to give importance to language codes. Linguists have emphasized that syntagmatics and its basic unit, the syntagm, require a good understanding in order to distinguish between textual coherence and its realization in pronunciation. The fact that sentences within the text are connected to each other like a tight thread creates relationships of both distance and contact.
