The journal publishes articles by young and reputable philologists who highlight significant and topical issues and discoveries in the field of linguistics, translation studies, innovative methods in teaching foreign languages, literary criticism, linguoculturology, linguodidactics.

Key goals of the journal:

Promoting the development of fundamental knowledge about philology.

Scientific discussion of theoretical and methodological developments in the field of linguistics and intercultural communication, translation studies and literary criticism.

Replication of scientific results in the practice of teaching languages.

The journal contributes to informing a wide audience about research and discoveries in the field of philological sciences. The published materials can be useful for students, graduate students and researchers for writing papers for advanced training.

This journal provides direct open access to its content, based on the following principle: free open access to research results increases the global exchange of knowledge.

Peer review

All scientific articles received by the editors of the journal "Foreign linguistics and linguodidactics" (hereinafter referred to as the Journal) are considered in terms of compliance with the requirements set forth in the Rules for Authors.

1. If the articles do not meet the requirements set forth in the Rules for Authors, a decision is made to refuse publication without sending them for review. In this case, the editors inform the author about the decision made by a standard e-mail.

2. With regard to manuscripts that have been received by the editorial office and meet the requirements set forth in the Rules for authors, the responsible editor makes a decision to send them for review to at least two anonymous reviewers from among both members of the editorial board and invited reviewers (including foreign scientists) specialized in the topic of the study. The editors strive to limit the review period to 3-4 weeks, however, at the request of the reviewer, the period can be extended.

3. In the event of any kind of conflict of interest that could affect the objectivity of the reviewer when considering the manuscript, he has the right to refuse to review.

4. Based on the results of reviewing the manuscript, the reviewer makes recommendations regarding the future fate of the work: the article is recommended for publication in its present form; the article is recommended for publication after a slight revision; the article is recommended for publication after serious revision; The article is not recommended for publication in the journal.

5. If the review contains recommendations for correcting and refining the article, the editors of the journal invite the author to take them into account when preparing a new version of the article or reasonably refute them. Finalization of the article should not take more than two months from the date of sending an e-mail to the author about the need to make changes. The article modified by the author is sent for review again.

6. In case of refusal to publish the manuscript, the author should notify the editors in writing about this decision. If the author does not return the revised version of the manuscript after two months from the date of sending the review, the editors remove it from the register and send a corresponding notification to the author. The revised article is sent back for review.

7. If the author and the reviewers have irresolvable contradictions regarding the review of the manuscript, the decision to resolve the situation is made personally by the editor-in-chief.

8. The decision to refuse to publish the manuscript is made by the editors based on the opinion of the majority of reviewers. A message about refusal to publish is sent to the author by e-mail. An article not recommended for publication is not accepted for re-consideration.

9. If the manuscript is accepted for publication, the editors notify the author about this and orientate regarding the timing of publication.

10. It should be noted that the presence of a positive review does not guarantee the publication of an article, since the final decision on publication is made by the editorial board. In conflict situations, the decision is made personally by the editor-in-chief.

11. Original reviews are kept in the editorial office of the journal for 5 years.

12. Copies of reviews or a justified refusal to publish are sent by the editors to the author. Editors are also authorized to send copies of reviews to the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education if requested.

Indexing

Publications in the journal "Foreign linguistics and linguodidactics" are included in the calculation systems for citation indices of authors and journals. "Citation Index" - a numerical indicator that characterizes the significance of this article and is calculated on the basis of subsequent publications that refer to this work.The journal is indexed in systems:Crossref is the official registration agency for Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) of the International DOI Foundation.Google Scholar - An open source search engine that indexes full-text scientific literature from Europe and the US.In Library is the largest national research library in Uzbekistan.

Ethics of scientific publications

The editors of the journal "Foreign Linguistics and Linguodidactics" in their work are guided by the traditional ethical principles of scientific periodicals and the set of principles of the "Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications", developed and approved by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), requiring compliance with these rules from all participants in the publishing process.

Principles of professional ethics in the activities of the publisher and editor

The publisher and the editorial board of the journal are responsible for the publication of copyright materials, which necessitates adherence to fundamental ethical principles.The editor makes an impartial decision about publication based on the reliability of the data presented and the scientific significance of the work under consideration. The editor may consult with other editors or experts regarding the decision to publish an article.The editor must evaluate the intellectual content of manuscripts regardless of the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, origin, citizenship, social status or political preferences of the authors.Business or political interests should not influence the decision to publish content. Unpublished data obtained from submitted manuscripts should not be used for personal purposes or transferred to third parties without the written consent of the author.Information obtained during editing must remain confidential. The editor should not allow a work to be published if there are sufficient grounds to consider it as plagiarism. The editor, together with the publisher, should not leave unanswered claims regarding the reviewed manuscripts or published materials, and in the event of a conflict, take all necessary measures to restore the violated rights.

The reviewer carries out a scientific examination of the author's materials, and his actions must be unbiased, consisting in the implementation of the following principles. The manuscript received for review should be treated as a confidential document that cannot be transferred for review or discussion to third parties who do not have permission from the editors.The reviewer is obliged to give an objective and reasoned assessment of the stated results of the study. Personal criticism of the author is unacceptable. Unpublished data obtained from submitted manuscripts should not be used by the reviewer for personal purposes. A reviewer who, in his own opinion, does not have sufficient competence to evaluate the manuscript or cannot be objective, for example, in the event of a conflict of interest with the author or organization, should inform the editor about this and ask to be excluded from the review process of this manuscript.

Principles to be followed by the author of scientific publications

The author (or a team of authors) is aware that he bears the primary responsibility for the novelty and reliability of the results of scientific research, as well as for compliance with ethical standards when performing the experimental work described in the article.Authors must ensure that the research results presented in the submitted manuscript are completely original. Borrowed fragments or statements must be formalized with the obligatory indication of the author and source. Excessive borrowing, as well as plagiarism in any form, is unethical and unacceptable. It is necessary to recognize the contribution of all persons who in one way or another influenced the course of the study, in particular, the article should provide links to works that were important in the conduct of the study.The author should not allow duplication of publications (in the cover letter it is necessary to indicate that the work is published for the first time). If individual elements of the manuscript have already been published, the author must refer to an earlier work and indicate the differences between the new work and the previous one. Submitting a manuscript to more than one journal at the same time is unethical.All persons who have made a significant contribution to the study should be listed as co-authors of the article. It is unacceptable to indicate co-authors of persons who did not participate in the study. All co-authors must confirm their consent to publication by signing either a license agreement or the manuscript itself. The editors are not responsible to third parties for violation of the guarantees given by the author. If the author finds significant errors or inaccuracies in the article at the stage of its consideration or after its publication, he must immediately notify the editors of the journal 

Conflict of interests

 In order to avoid violation of publication ethics, the conflict of interests of all parties involved in the process of publishing the manuscript should be excluded. A conflict of interest arises if an author, reviewer or member of the editorial board has a financial, scientific or personal relationship that may affect their actions. The author undertakes to resolve all claims independently and at his own expense. In the event of a situation involving a violation of the publication ethics of any of the parties involved in the editorial and publishing process, a mandatory investigation and public explanation of the conflict of interest is required.If material containing significant inaccuracies has been published, it must be corrected in a form accessible to readers and indexing systems.

Disclosure Policy and Conflicts of Interest

Unpublished data obtained from submitted manuscripts may not be used in personal research without the written consent of the Author.Information or ideas obtained during the review and related to possible benefits must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain.Reviewers should not participate in the review of manuscripts in the event of conflicts of interest due to competitive, collaborative and other interactions and relationships with any of the Authors, companies or other organizations associated with the submitted work.

Borrowing and plagiarism

The editorial board of the journal "Foreign linguistics and linguodidactics", when considering an article, can check the material using the Antiplagiarism system. In case of detection of numerous borrowings, the editors act in accordance with the COPE rules. 

Policy for posting preprints and postprints

During the article submission process, the author needs to confirm that the article has not been published or has not been accepted for publication in another scientific journal. When linking to an article published in the journal "Foreign linguistics and linguodidactics", the publisher asks to place a link (full URL of the material) to the official website of the journal.Articles previously posted by authors on personal or public sites that are not related to other publishers are allowed for consideration.
