Globallashuv sharoitida oliy ta’lim jarayonida ingliz tilidan o‘qitish tili sifatida (English Medium Instruction, EMI) foydalanish tobora dolzarb bo‘lib bormoqda. Ushbu maqolada EMI ni joriy etishning nazariy asoslari, amaliy jihatlari hamda, olimlar o‘rtasidagi munozaralar ko‘rib chiqiladi. Tadqiqot natijalarini tahlil qilish, kontentga asoslangan o‘qitish (CBI), vazifaga asoslangan o‘qitish (TBLT) va autentiv materiallardan foydalanish muhimligini ta’kidlaydi. EMI mavjud qiyinchiliklarga qaramasdan, EMI o‘qitish tili sifatida va bo‘lajak mutaxassislar xalqaro raqobatbardoshligini oshirishga hissa qo‘shadi.
