This article is devoted to the institution of parliamentary control in the Republic of Uzbekistan, its role and importance in the structure of the functions of the Parliament of Uzbekistan. The author of the article analyzes various approaches to the concept of parliamentary control in the theory of constitutional law, in national legislation. The author’s definition of parliamentary control is formulated. Emphasis is placed on the need for a clear fixing of this term in the current legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The article reflects the goals of parliamentary control, their characteristics are given. the constitutional and legal institution of parliamentary control in the Republic of Uzbekistan is considered from the point of view of its place in the system of state government. Highlighted the special role of parliament as a representative institution of the people, expressing its will. An assessment of the effectiveness of the implementation of parliamentary control by the parliament at the present stage of the country’s development is given. Questions are raised about the directions for improving parliamentary control. The author made an attempt to justify the provisions of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On parliamentary control” scientifically and theoretically, identified a number of issues that require scientific and practical discussion and profound scientific and theoretical study.
