The article presents the results of studying the problems of physical fitness of chess players during training and competitions, discusses the need for motor activity as a means of influencing the functional state of the body when participating in competitions, and the need to determine the patterns of recovery processes after the game. The positive dynamics of the level of increasing the functional state of the chess player's body due to physical loads, as well as the development of physical qualities, such as endurance and coordination qualities during training and competitive periods, was determined. The author's method of physical training, taking into account the patterns of recovery of the body of athletes and included in the system of training chess players of Termez State University, serves to achieve high results. At present Termez State University chess players have repeatedly become winners of regional and republican championships in individual and team competitions among chess students.
