Abstract

The article examines the rights of the victim and the problems of his participation in the conclusion of a plea agreement between the prosecutor and the accused. Based on the fact that the plea agreement is a new legal phenomenon for the Republic of Uzbekistan, the article analyzes the law enforcement and legislative practice of the United States, where these agreements have been used for more than half a century. The author comes to the conclusion about the development of general guidelines for the prosecutor's office to ensure the transparency and effectiveness of plea agreements. It is noted the need to take into account the victim’s position by the prosecutor and exercise proper control over such agreements.
