Abstract

The article reveals the concept and features of digital evidence. The specifics of their application in the investigation of crimes are analyzed. The problematic aspects of the topic under study are identified. The paper substantiates the need to update legislation to ensure the admissibility of digital evidence in court, highlights the best practices of foreign countries in this area. The author has developed proposals for improving the regulatory framework of digital evidence, as well as the practices of collecting and using it by law enforcement agencies.
