Abstract

The presented research article provides an in-depth examination of recent constitutional reforms in the Republic of Uzbekistan, focusing primarily on the protection of individual rights and freedoms and the specific characteristics of the judicial system of the country. The author directs attention to seven key aspects that have formed the foundation of status these reforms.

First, the strengthening of Uzbekistan as a State governed by the rule of law which is designed to ensure respect for and adherence to the rule of law in the country.

Second, the priority of protecting individual rights and freedoms, including the importance of upholding the principle of proportionality in the application of legal measures.

Third, the restriction of individual rights based on the rule of law and justice reflected a profound constitutional transformation.

Fourth, the inclusion of the Miranda Rules in the constitution would enhance the protection of detainees' rights.

Fifth, enhancing the role of the Bar in Uzbekistan's judicial system.

Sixth, to increase the scope for the protection of individual rights guaranteed by the constitution.

Seventh, to incorporate the institution of Habeas Corpus into the Constitution of Uzbekistan.

The conclusion of the research paper suggests a number of potential steps to further develop judicial reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at the implementation of recently introduced constitutional measures. They center around bringing existing legislation in line with the revised constitutional provisions and making the courts more accessible and efficient for citizens.
