Abstract

The article examines the environmental situation in the modern world, the fight against climate change and its negative consequences, the negative impact of climate change on the state of water resources, and measures taken by the world community and individual states within the framework of these processes. The author paid special attention to the study of issues of ensuring the population’s right to clean drinking water based on scientific and legal sources. The author formulated his scientific views on the use of water and water treatment facilities based on the state environmental policy implemented in our country. The article examines the legal description of such concepts as “drinking water”, “clean drinking water”, “high-quality drinking water”, and “required amount of drinking water”. The article also analyzes the current state of water legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the regime of water protection zones, water consumption and water use rights expressed in it.
