This article examines the importance of social protection policies in the fight against poverty in the Republic of Uzbekistan from a scientific and practical point of view. Various causes and consequences of poverty are examined, and signs of a deep understanding of the essence of the welfare state are analyzed. Based on the study, scientific conclusions, proposals and recommendations were developed for managing the necessary investments in health care and education to reduce poverty.
