Abstract

The presented scientific article analyzes the theoretical foundations for establishing diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and the states of Southeast Asia, in particular Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines and Singapore. The article reveals that the diplomatic system of Uzbekistan in the first years of independence entered the stage of integration into the modern international system, as a result of which the basic principles of the country’s foreign policy were revised and the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan was adopted. It has been established that the main factor that influenced the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and the countries of Southeast Asia was the recognition of the independence of Uzbekistan, which made it possible to subsequently establish bilateral relations with the countries of Southeast Asia.
