For centuries, satire was present in culture, its manifestations were different from pamphlets to performances on the stages of the first theaters. With time and progress development satire has appeared in all modern media. Therefore, this article discusses the main areas of popularization of satire.
The purpose of this work is to draw attention to Christopher Buckley’s literary heritage. Since being a well-known journalist, his literary works are often left without proper attention from scholars. The topicality of this article lays in the study of contemporary American political satire, more precisely, its manifestation in literature. In the novel «They Eat Puppies, Don’t They? » the accusatory satire on the political establishment of the USA and the PRC (People’s Republic of China) is reflected, and the deterioration of relations between these countries is predicted.
