Abstract

One of the main goals of the criminal process is to uphold the rule of law and combat crime, while also safeguarding the rights and freedoms of suspects. Any person suspected of a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty by law. This article examines the concept of a suspect, including its basis, conditions, status, rights, and obligations in the criminal process. It also provides a comparative analysis of legal standards from foreign countries and national legislation.
