Abstract

This article analyzes the spread of the plague in the Turkestan region at the end of the 19th century, as well as its socio-economic and demographic consequences. The article provides information about the causes of the plague, its impact on the life of society, the measures taken to combat the disease and the difficult situation of the population. In addition, the participation of the government and local elites of the time in the fight against the disease is considered, and the problems that arose in this process are also highlighted.
