Abstract

To date, it has been established that 70% of people involved in tobacco growing have various diseases [4,6,]. Comparison of the incidence rates of tobacco growers with the control group shows that tobacco growers are sick more often than other individuals. The number of diseases they have is 37% more, and the number of days of disability is 30% higher than in other types of agricultural work [8,4,1]. Among tobacco growers, most of all there are diseases of the respiratory system, gastrointestinal tract, infectious, allergic diseases, nervous and cardiovascular systems, skin and subcutaneous tissue.

However, there is no information on the impact of unfavorable factors of the tobacco-growing industry on the organs and tissues of the oral cavity of working persons, with the exception of certain works [7,2]. Under experimental conditions, it was found that prolonged exposure to tobacco extract causes clinical and morphological changes resembling leukoplakia.
