Abstract

The development of cognitive abilities in primary grades, aligned with students' age-specific characteristics, contributes to the effectiveness of the educational process. This period is particularly notable for active vocabulary acquisition and the ability to apply new words in various speech contexts. Through analysis, the article identifies the necessity of examining cognitive processes and assessing psychological states when evaluating vocabulary acquisition levels in primary grades. A brief, exemplary systematic program for assessing students' cognitive processes has been developed.
