For centuries, the Latin language has played a key role in the development of medicine, being the basis of medical terminology, anatomical nomenclature and pharmacology. Despite the fact that in the modern world, Latin is no longer spoken, it remains an integral part of medical science and practice. This article examines the historical aspects of the interaction of the Latin language and medicine, analyzes the modern use of Latinisms in medical practice, and assesses the prospects for the preservation and development of Latin medical terminology in the 21st century. Particular attention is also paid to the methods of teaching Latin to students of medical universities and its importance in the professional training of doctors.
