Amid rapid technological advancement and intensifying global competition, artificial intelligence (AI) emerges not only as a crucial component of scientific and technological progress but also as a key driver of international competitiveness. For the countries of Central Asia, which are currently transforming their economic models and seeking deeper integration into the global economy, AI serves as a strategic tool for industrial modernization, the digitalization of public administration, and the development of human capital. This article examines how Central Asian states can harness AI to strengthen their positions in the international economic system. It explores the major challenges and constraints associated with AI adoption, including limited human resources, underdeveloped digital infrastructure, and the urgent need for a coordinated regional strategy. The discussion places particular emphasis on opportunities for regional cooperation in the field of AI and highlights the importance of international partnerships in fostering technological innovation across Central Asia.
