Abstract

The article examines issues of international jurisdiction in child support recovery cases. It analyzes court jurisdiction in cases complicated by a foreign element, conflict-of-law rules between different national legislations, as well as the role of international conventions and existing challenges in practice. Special attention is given to the 2007 Hague Convention, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and other international instruments regulating jurisdiction in matters of maintenance obligations. The article also highlights the consistency of national legislation with international standards and provides scholarly reflections on the subject.
