Abstract

The article examines epistolary sources from the period of the Second World War as an important component of the system of military communication in the Uzbek SSR. Based on an analysis of frontline letters, correspondence of evacuees, home-front communications, and archival materials, the study identifies the specific features of information transmission under wartime conditions, the communicative practices of the population, and the mechanisms that shaped the emotional and psychological connection between the front and the rear. The research demonstrates that epistolary texts functioned not only as a means of interpersonal communication but also as part of a broader informational space regulated by political, social, and cultural factors. Particular attention is paid to the role of letters in reflecting wartime everyday life, value orientations, experiences, and the worldview of participants in the war, as well as their significance for reconstructing historical memory. The study highlights the potential of epistolary heritage as a nontraditional yet highly informative historical source for examining wartime communication.
