Abstract

Religious lexicology is the study of words and vocabulary (lexicon) used in religious contexts. It combines elements of linguistics, theology, and cultural studies to analyze how religious language is formed, used, and evolves over time across different faith traditions.

Although the concept of religious vocabulary is often correlated with various similar concepts, such as church vocabulary, Biblical or Islam vocabulary, Slavism, Church Slavism, each of them has its own definition and is a branch of religious vocabulary. This article is devoted to the study of semantic and pragmatic features of universal and individual religious lexemes.
