Abstract

This article examines the main principles and methods of comparative study of phraseological units. Through cross-linguistic analysis, the semantic, structural, and cultural features of idiomatic expressions are explored. The study highlights approaches such as synchronic and diachronic analysis, cross-linguistic comparison, cultural-contextual interpretation, semantic field analysis, and structural analysis. Views of leading scholars in world phraseology are discussed, emphasizing the importance of distinguishing between universal and national features in the study of phraseological systems.
