Abstract

This article analyzes the use and significance of military terms in the work Baburnama. It highlights Babur Mirza’s military leadership skills, his strategic approaches in warfare, and his application of contemporary military technologies. Terms such as tufakchi, tufakandoz, ra’dandoz, zarbzan, to‘lg‘ama, and Rum dasturi are examined in terms of their semantics and relevance in medieval military art. Descriptions of battles illustrate Babur’s innovative organization of troops and his practical knowledge in deploying heavy artillery. The article positions Baburnama as a valuable source for military linguistics and contributes to the study of medieval Eastern military terminology.
