Abstract

This article analyzes the role of the translator’s personality and competence in the translation process. Translation involves not only language transfer but also the reconstruction of culture and thought. Therefore, the translator’s worldview and creativity directly influence translation quality. The paper highlights linguistic, cultural, communicative, and ethical competences of the translator, as well as their interrelation. It also discusses the translator’s role as a cultural mediator and the importance of the human factor in translation.
