This article analyzes the occurrence of toponyms in Chinese and Uzbek phraseological units and proverbs from a linguocultural perspective. The study explores the semantic, pragmatic, cognitive, and stylistic potential of toponyms, as well as their role in the historical memory, cultural identity, and mentality of the people. It is argued that toponyms in the Chinese language primarily serve to convey moral and didactic meanings, while in the Uzbek language they play a crucial role in expressing historical-regional memory, social evaluation, and national identity. Furthermore, toponyms within phraseological units and proverbs are interpreted as linguocultural markers that influence the formation of cultural codes of both peoples. The research findings highlight the similarities and differences between toponyms in the cultural systems of the two languages, as well as their significance in creating conceptual maps in the collective consciousness.
