This article highlights the ways of organizing the prevention of arterial hypertension in primary health care. At the same time, the main method of studying the population is screening survey, which, firstly, allows us assessing the initial situation with respect to hypertension in selected populations, and secondly, to study some other characteristics of these populations (education, profession, anthropometric indicators, harmful habits, etc.), thirdly, allow tracking the dynamics of the most important of studied characters (awareness of presence of hypertension, frequency and effectiveness of treatment) during the implementation of preventive program.
