The foundation of this study was an analysis of data concerning the diagnosis and treatment of acute small intestinal obstruction in 359 individuals. In order to enhance diagnostic accuracy, clinical and anamnestic data, in conjunction with the results of X-ray and ultrasound examinations, were utilised, with these methods complementing each other. This approach demonstrated a high degree of efficiency, with a success rate of 95.7%.The task of differential diagnosis of various types of acute small intestinal obstruction is intricate and significant. To address this need, we have developed a diagnostic algorithm that utilises a bespoke prognostic system and ultrasound examination, incorporating Doppler sonography. This approach has demonstrated an impressive efficiency of up to 98.4%, leading to a substantial reduction in the number of cases of strangulation disease that remained undetected.
