The article describes the patterns of the dynamics of the development of epithelial-stromal elements of the prostate gland of rats during the lactation period. It has been established that the formation of the structural components of the prostate has age-related features. It was found that by the time of birth, the prostate is morphologically organized and its reorganization is directed to further morphofunctional development. The formation of secretory terminal glands from epithelial strands continues after birth, which occurs during the first 3 weeks of postnatal development.
