Abstract

Measles is a viral infectious disease that affects people of all ages. According to WHO, in 2023, more than 42,000 cases of measles were recorded in 40 of the 53 countries in the European Region, compared to only 941 cases in 2022. WHO attributed this increase in incidence to a decrease in vaccination coverage in the European Region in 2020-2022. Routine immunization activities were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The article discusses the observation of measles among the population of the Namangan region in 2024 and the epidemiological effectiveness of measles immunoprophylaxis.
