The article describes the significance of enhancing cultural awareness skills and linguocultural competence of students through studying folk proverbs. The paper also deals with the important effects of learning proverbs as well as to explore Karakalpak culture in proverbs. Furthermore, the author mentions that with the help of analyzing national proverbs based on comparative analysis (Karakalpak and English languages), in this case, students’ encouragement to learn national and foreign culture will enhance, linguocultural competence as well.
