The article examines the theoretical foundations of strategies and methods of teaching students. Particular attention is paid to the state of the educational process in the institutions of the republic, its historical background and the approaches of foreign researchers to this topic. Within the framework of the work, three types of training are discussed: scientifically based training (surface approach), developmental approach and deep approach.
