This article examines methodologies for developing an ideographic dictionary encompassing both English and Uzbek. An ideographic dictionary emphasizes the meanings of words and concepts rather than their phonetic or grammatical features, offering a detailed understanding of cultural and contextual nuances. The study outlines various approaches to compiling such a dictionary, including comparative analysis of lexical items, semantic mapping, and integrating cultural references. It highlights the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration among linguists, cultural experts, and educators to ensure accurate and relevant entries. Additionally, the paper addresses challenges in bridging linguistic gaps and proposes solutions to enhance cross-linguistic understanding. The resulting ideographic dictionary aims to be a valuable resource for language learners, translators, and researchers interested in the interplay between English and Uzbek languages.
