Abstract

The article examines the acmeological approach to the formation of a secondary linguistic personality in the context of intercultural communication. Since the 1980s, the psychologization of language and communication analysis has emphasized the importance of a "culture mediator" – a student capable of harmoniously interacting with representatives of two cultures while retaining their own identity. Acmeology, the science of professionalism development, offers a new perspective on foreign language teaching, shifting the focus from mere knowledge transfer to developing the learner’s potential for self-improvement and achieving "peaks" in linguistic and cultural development.
