Abstract

This article explores the expression of words denoting work-action in the colloquial speech of English and Uzbek languages. It investigates how work-related actions are articulated in everyday conversations, highlighting the similarities and differences in linguistic structures, semantic nuances, and cultural contexts. By analyzing various colloquial expressions and their usage in both languages, the research aims to uncover the underlying sociolinguistic factors that influence the representation of work and action. Additionally, the study examines how these expressions reflect cultural attitudes towards labor, productivity, and social roles within English and Uzbek-speaking communities.
